How many rolls of film will be shot at my wedding? How much film really depends on the size of the wedding and immediate families. It is my philosophy that film is cheap, the day is not. At an average wedding of 200 guests, I will probably shoot 25 rolls = 700 4x6 proofs.
How soon will we see the proofs after the wedding? I include in my contract that the wedding couple will get their 4x6 color and B/W proofs in a proof album within 2-3 weeks after their wedding date.
Can we buy the negatives? I will negotiate a reasonable price with every couple that requests negatives. They are always for sale. If you choose not to buy the negatives, Kate Beal Grove Photography will keep them for 10 years, afterwhich I will contact you and you may purchase them then at a much discounted price.
Do you charge overtime or travel time? I never charge overtime. If you choose the limited time package and the time runs a little over, I will still not charge overtime. It is your wedding day, it is my job to document it not disrupt it. Travel time is always included. There are no hidden charges.
Will you be bringing assistants and do they require a meal? I will always have one assistant. I like to work with the assistant and rely on him/her to watch over me and make sure things are running smoothly. My assistant will always be professional, friendly and cordial. Neither I or the assistant require meals.
Are you the only photographer? My assistant is also trained in photography and is available to shoot from other vantage points during the ceremony and candids at the reception if needed.
What format do you shoot in? Since I shoot formal portraits and candids, my main cameras are 35mm Canon Eos system. If necessary, I will shoot formal portraits in Medium format for enlargement purposes. You will always see me with at least 2 cameras on me: one loaded with color film, one loaded with b/w.
Do you shoot digital? I have digital equipment and will shoot some digital if the couple chooses. I do not usually shoot weddings with digital equipment. Right now, I prefer the quality and longevity of film.
When is the best time to take formal portraits and how much time is needed? I will work with every couple on what works best with their wedding. Not all the portraits need to be taken at the same time in the same location. I do lots of location scouting and research before your wedding to make sure everything runs smoothly and in the allotted time.
Do you work well with other vendors? Yes. Every job at the wedding and reception is important. I am always pleasant and professional with other vendors.
Will you attend the rehearsal? Yes, it is advantageous to me to attend the rehearsal. Not only will I see how things will run the day of the wedding but I will also have the chance to meet the families and attendants. I do not charge extra to attend the rehearsal. If you would like your rehearsal and rehearsal dinner photographed, we can work out a reasonable price.
Do you have any references? Yes. If you would like references, please contact me for a list. Thank you. |
